How long do I have to complete an assignment and submit my final deliverable?
We aim to provide approximately 18 days for solving all assignments. However, the deadline may be longer for more complex assignments or shorter for simpler ones.
Once you are accepted for an assignment, a clear and specific deadline for you and your team will be established in collaboration with the client. The deadline will be visible on the assignment page as soon as agreed upon by you, the client and the blackbear team.
How should the deliverable look like?
We try to provide you with templates and resources to make sure you have a good basis for submitting a strong deliverable. However, this is not always possible. Some assignments are more generic while other can be very specific. Most of the time the expected final format of the deliverable is discussed during the meetings you have with the client and we encourage you to ask as many questions about the expectations during these meetings. The client might also choose to provide you with templates or examples. Wherever an example is not provided, it is up to you as a selected subject matter expert to decide what is the best way to deliver the desired results.
In which language should the solutions be submitted?
The preferred language differs per assignment. If you click on an assignment, you will see at the top in which language does the company wish to receive the deliverable in. Typically, that is the language used during the entire process of the assignment. Therefore, we recommend that you only join assignments that are conducted in a language that you are fluent in. Additionally, make sure you list all the languages you are fluent in on your solver profile so our team can select you for suitable assignments.
How long does the company have to review my deliverable?
After handing in your final deliverable, it will be evaluated by the company. After uploading your deliverable, companies have around 14 week-days to review it and submit their feedback or rating. The submitted deliverable will be rated based on a 5-star rating and the rating will trigger your payout.
Can I change or view my deliverable after I submitted it?
You can always view your submitted deliverables on the Assignment page - LATEST UPDATE ON YOUR DELIVERABLE section.
However, in case you want to change or update your deliverable after submission, you will need to reach out to support or the Project Consultant assigned. They can reject the current deliverable which will enable you to submit a new one. This is only possible if the deliverable was not yet submitted to the final client. In cases where your deliverable has been approved by the blackbear team, we might not be able to make any changes. Contact support or your Project Consultant to see what is the best way to move forward.
What happens with my intellectual property after I have submitted a deliverable?
After you have submitted your deliverable, the information and data you have produced will become the intellectual property of the company that opened the assignment. Read more about this on our Terms & Conditions.
Who has access to the deliverables I submit?
During the assignment process, you can submit a draft deliverable and a final deliverable.
As soon as you submit the draft deliverables, this is instantly shared with our blackbear team and the client.
When you submit a final deliverable, this is first visible only to our team. Our team will review it to make sure it meets the requirements of the client and you haven't forgotten anything and once they accept it, your final deliverable will be shared with the end client.
You can read more here about the process of: draft deliverables and final deliverables.
What happens if I am late when submitting my deliverables?
You can still submit your deliverable if you missed your deadline but it might affect your rating. It will be up to the decision of the client if they still wish to accept it depending on how much it affects their own planning and how much dependency they have on your deliverable.
We always recommend that you inform us before-hand as soon as you realise that you might be late so that we can try to extend the deadline and avoid affecting your rating.
Will I receive a reminder so I don't miss my deadline for submitting my final deliverable?
If you want to receive notifications when your deadline is close, we encourage you to enable your Assignment notifications from your Notification Settings (see how). This way you will receive reminders when the deadline is close or when your deadline has changed. Our team of Project Consultants might also check-in with you before to see where you stand with your progress and see if we can support you with meeting your deadline.
Can I get a deadline extension?
In cases where you think you are going to be late submitting your deliverable, you can ask for an extension by informing your Project Consultant or by contacting support. Let us know what is a deadline you think you can meet so we make the right adjustments and what is the main reason for your deadline extension request. Our team can then extend your deadline in agreement with the client. Be aware that extending your deadline might affect your final rating and therefore, the payout you receive.
Why only a Lead Solver can submit the deliverable and rating?
Currently, when you work in a team, only where you are the Lead solver you can submit deliverables and rate a client. This is to ensure that not all solvers from the team submit individual feedback. Please make sure to align with your team lead and provide your feedback and input before they take any final action. You can view everything they submit on behalf of the team on the Assignment details page or in the Ratings page of the company.
