Setting up your Solver Profile

Learn how to create a strong profile and why it is important.

The importance of a good profile

We want you to be successful and get the best experience and benefits through the blackbear platform. Part of what makes a Solver successful is having a complete profile. This includes your work history and education and a list of skills.

Creating a profile on blackbear is an important step to take if you want to start solving Assignments. A profile allows you to showcase your identity, establish trust, and make it easier for other users to find and connect with you. It also helps our blackbear team and potential clients determine if you are the right person for their project. In this guide, we will explain how to create a profile and why it is important.

Note: your profile is visible to all the users on the blackbear platform.


Navigate to your Profile Settings

  1. Click on your avatar on the top right corner 
  2. Click 'Settings'
  3. Click 'Profile'

OR

  1. Click on your avatar on the top right corner 
  2. Click 'My Profile'
  3. Click on the hamburger menu next to your experience information
  4. Select 'Edit profile'
  5. View your profile settings and start editing

Create or Edit your profile

Add your Name to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Insert your 'First Name'
  3. Insert your 'Last Name'
  4. Click 'Save profile' button

Add a City & Country to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Insert your 'City' based on your residence or current work location
  3. Select your 'Country' from the drop-down list
  4. Click 'Save profile' button

Add your Linkedin to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Add a Linkedin Profile link by coping the linkedin profile url and pasting the link in the 'Linkedin profile' on the blackbear platform
  3. Click 'Save profile' button

Add Short bio to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Scroll down to the 'Short Bio' section
  3. Type in your Bio:
    1. Start with a brief introduction about yourself and the purpose of the profile.
    2. Mention your achievements, such as awards, publications, or recognition that you have received in your career.
    3. Add a section about your interests and hobbies. This will help others to know more about your personality outside of work
  4. When you are happy with your Bio, click 'Save profile' button

Add education to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Scroll down to the 'Education' section
  3. Select your 'Study' from the drop-down list
  4. Select 'Educational Institution' from the drop-down list
  5. Select the 'Degree' level from the drop-down list
  6. Click 'Save profile' button


Add work experience to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Scroll down to the 'Work Experience' section
  3. Add 'Job Title' by typing in the role that best describes your most recent professional experience
  4. Add 'Company' name
  5. Click 'Save profile' button

Add skills to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Scroll down to the 'Skills' section and click the drop-down list or start typing the name of a skill
  3. Then select the best match from the list provided
  4. If you want to enter more skills, repeat this step for each
  5. Click 'Save profile' button

Tip: Make sure you select the skills that you master and that are relevant to your field or interests. The skills added help the blackbear team and clients know if you could be suitable on working on an assignment with a specific skill requirement.

When adding skills, if you are having trouble finding your skill among the options, try some synonyms. Or be a little less specific. For example, try "technical documentation" instead of "electronics manual creation." Please note we have purposefully excluded skills that you can't sell in our platform, such as "baking".


Add languages to your profile

  1. Click on your avatar -> Select 'Settings' -> Select 'Profile'
  2. Scroll down to the Details section - 'Languages' and click the drop-down list or start typing the name of a language
  3. Then select the best match from the list provided
  4. If you want to enter more languages, you can select from the list multiple languages at once or repeat the process each time
  5. Click 'Save profile' button

Tip: We encourage you to only add the languages that you master at a professional level. The language(s) added, help the blackbear team and clients know if you could be suitable on working on an assignment in a specific language.
