Steps to Create Assignment

Login -> Click 'Create Assignment' or open a need and click 'Turn into assignment'-> Fill in all required information -> Click 'Submit for Review' -> Wait for review from our Project Consultants and an intake meeting invite

1. Login to Blackbear with your company email. To create your first assignment, you need to log in to Blackbear using your company email. If you don't have a Blackbear account, you can buy a license with blackbear and you will get invited to our platform.

2. Click 'Create Assignment'. You will view a “Create Assignment’ form. You will view the assignment form. The next step is to fill in the required information about your assignment. This includes:

👉 Assignment scope:

  • Title: Choose a name for your assignment that you feel best describes your assignment scope.
  • Describe your need (optional):. Here you can give a brief overview of your assignment, the context around it and what it entails. It can include any relevant information that helps the reviewer understand the task at hand.

👉 Delivery process:

  • Describe your preferred delivery process (optional). Think about milestones, meeting preferences, feedback loop, final output, and any other needs. We’ll make sure to align to your needs!
  • How many deliverables do you need? Specify how many deliverables you would like to receive for this assignment. A deliverable is the final output of the assignment submitted by a solver or team. When you request multiple deliverables, each solver or team will be working independently on the same assignment scope, delivering different results.
  • Useful resources & templates (optional). The 'Useful resources' field is optional, but can be incredibly helpful for our project consultants to better understand your needs. Here, you can upload any relevant materials that Solvers or project consultants might need to deliver the expected results. This can include any work that has already been done on the topic, or any helpful documentation or templates. If you're unsure of what to upload, feel free to reach out to our support team for guidance.
  • Resources description: You can also add a description to the relevant resources you uploaded so we know why they are relevant or how to use them.

👉 Solver requirements:

  • Experience level. Specify the level of expertise you require from your Solver. Providing this information helps attract Solvers with the right expertise for your Assignment.
  • Must-have skills: Select the must-have skills that solvers should have to be able to deliver the desired results.
  • Fluently spoken languages: Specify all the languages in which you expect Solvers to communicate and deliver work.

👉 Logistics:

  • Assignment Owner: Select the person responsible for this assignment. The Assignment Owner is the primary Point of Contact (POC) responsible for overseeing the entire process, approving the Assignment and final results.
  • Collaborators (optional): Add any collaborators to this assignment. Collaborators can shape the assignments, receive updates, and can rate/approve when the owner's unavailable.
  • Assignment Deadline (optional): Select a date by which you hope to have this assignment completed. Providing a clear timeframe helps Solvers understand your expectations and ensures timely delivery.
  • Assignment budged (optional): No worries, no commitments yet. Your input just helps us tailor our solutions to your expectations or suggest a more suitable budget if there is no feasible solution identified.
  • Assignment NDA: do you need an NDA signed by the solvers before taking on the assignment or viewing certain assignment information?

Note: Your maximum budget will be itemized based on the following costs once you create your assignment:

  • Deliverable: This is the payment that Solver(s) will receive upon achieving a 5-star rating on their final output.
  • Commission: this is the calculated fee on top of the deliverables payout, as per the commission agreement with blackbear in your contract.
  • Services: These costs cover the additional services provided by blackbear for the setup and management of your assignment.

Once you have finished your assignment, you have the option to either save it as a draft for future editing or submit it for review by our Project Consultants. They will ensure that all necessary details are in place before sharing it with our Solvers or adding any additional relevant information.

Note: Not sure how to fill this in? Contact our support team and they will be happy to start the process with you.

3. Preview assignment in 'draft' phase

After you have drafted your assignment, simply click on 'Submit' and it will be saved as a 'Draft'. During this phase you can review all the details of your assignment before submitting it for review. The assignment is only visible to you and your team at this stage and is not yet shared with blackbear. If you decide not to submit the assignment for review at this time, it will not be sent to the blackbear team. You can easily access it under the 'Draft' status and continue working on it later.

Budget difference: Your max. budget is broken-down to estimate potential costs. Due to percentage-based commission calculations, the resulting budget may vary slightly from the original entry. This is an estimate and can be adjusted later with your project consultant.

4. Submit your assignment for Review to the blackbear team

Once you have filled in all the details, you can submit your assignment. This will land you on a preview page where you can see the information you filled in your assignment. Once your assignment is submitted, our project consultants will receive your request. You will see on the right side of your assignment page that assignment status will be ‘Submitted for review’.

Once assignment is submitted you can still add the following information from the right side of the assignment:

  • Category: You can select from a drop-down list the category that best suits your assignment. If you don’t know what is the best category, you can leave it blank and our team will make sure to fill this in before publishing the assignment.
  • Priority: you can set a priority for the assignment so we know how fast we need to act on it.

 5. What happens next?

Our project consultants will take over and review your submission. They will do some prep work and schedule a Draft meeting with you (and your team if the case) to learn more about your goals and objectives. During this meeting, they will fill in any remaining details and work with you to refine your assignment to ensure that it meets your needs.

All the information you already provided will be reviewed and confirmed. In addition, any topics that might have not been covered yet, such as your budget or NDA can be determined during your Draft meeting together with your project consultant.

Depending on the situation and what you agreed together, they will either:

  • Post the assignment to Solvers if all information was provided (the publication can be right away or for a specific date if agreed so)
  • Edit your assignment in case there is missing information or requires some improvements and send it back to you to approve the new content via the platform
