Do I need to live in The Netherlands to solve assignments?

Blackbear is currently available for all Solvers that live in EU countries.

Unfortunately, due to limitations and compliance, blackbear platform is not available yet to countries outside the EU. We are working hard to expand outside of the EU. If you are interested to know when we will be available in your area, please subscribe to our waiting list during sign up.

Why is it necessary to verify your account before you can start an assignment?

We are working to keep blackbear secure and safe for everyone, and that includes making sure that people are who they say they are. We use a third-party vendor to verify your identity. We may also ask for additional confirmation about your location if needed.

In other words, our payment provider Stripe and blackbear must make sure that our solvers are genuinely who they claim to be.

To verify your account with blackbear you just have to follow the connection process with Stripe, our payment provider and verify your phone number via blackbear. To complete these steps:

  1. Log into your blackbear account
  2. Go to Settings -> Account and follow the steps for phone verification
  3. Go to Settings -> Payout -> and click 'Connect stripe' and follow the steps on the Stripe verification process

Can I get in touch with the company I do an assignment for?

Once you have submitted your proposal on an assignment and once you have been accepted by our team to work on the assignment, we will schedule a first meeting with the client for alignment. From this moment onwards and until the completion of the assignment, you can stay in touch with the Assignment Owner from the client to make sure you deliver the expected results.

You can not contact the client before your proposal is accepted.

What if I don't make the deadline?

If you are going to be late submitting your deliverable, you can ask for an extension by contacting the Project Consultant or support  before the due date is reached. Our team can then extend your deadline in agreement with the client.

In case an extension is not requested, you can still submit a late deliverable but it might affect your rating. We always recommend that you inform us before-hand as soon as you realise that you might be late so that we can try to avoid affecting your rating and payout.

Do I only get paid only when I score 5 stars on an assignment?

Nope! You will always get paid, but the amount is completed based on the rating you received. So your time and effort will always be rewarded. Read more here about our rating system and payout.

How does the proposal process work?

Once your profile is verified you can start looking for an assignment. When you have found one you can click 'Start Assignment' and start filling in your proposal. In your proposal the following questions need to be answered:

  1. Why I would be the most suitable person to participate in this challenge?
  2. My first ideas concerning this assignment are?

Please make sure your proposal stand out. Avoid spelling mistakes or poor use of grammar. Answer the 2 questions in depth and make sure that you added a bio, languages and skills to your profile.

Depending on the urgency of the assignment, you can expect to receive feedback within 7 to 10 business days. Keep in mind that our team is working hard to ensure the best candidate is selected for the job.

Is it possible to work on multiple assignments at the same time?

You can work on multiple assignments at the same time. However, our team can decide to reject your application if you take too much work on at once. This is to protect your focus and help you get the best rating and payout on the assignments you are working on.

Additionally, if you are a non-registered freelancer, there is a limit to what you can earn per year and we need to make sure that limit is not exceeded so we can comply with legal local requirements.

Can I travel and work for blackbear?

While some assignments may require physical presence, most tasks can be completed remotely, allowing you to travel while working.

However, it is important to note that you must still be registered in one of the EU countries to participate in assignments. If you move outside of the EU, we will not be able to change your bank account information, address, or country, which may affect your ability to continue working with blackbear.

Can I quit an assignment when I have already started it?

If you find yourself in a situation where you need to quit an assignment that you have already started, please let our team know as soon as possible and provide the reason for leaving. While we understand that this is not ideal, we aim to protect your solver status and maintain a good relationship with the client. However, if you quit without proper notice, it may negatively affect your chances of being accepted for future assignments. We value professionalism and honesty in our community of solvers and strive to maintain a positive environment for both our clients and solvers.

Can an assignment I am working on get cancelled?

There are some situations where a client might decide to cancel an assignment after it has already been started. This might happen due to priority changes or needing to approach things from a different angle. In these situations if you have already been accepted on the assignment and have done some work, our team will contact you to settle and agree on your payout for the work performed up to this moment. We value your time and we will try to make sure you get rewarded for the work performed so far.

Can I withdraw from an assignment I started?

If you can no longer complete an assignment you have been accepted for and wish to withdraw, you can do so by contacting our support team.

Have in mind that when a solver withdraws from the assignment process once started, the solver significantly reduces their chances of being chosen for other assignments in the future.
