Assignment Statuses Explained

Curious about the meaning behind each assignment status? Understanding each phase is crucial to successfully finishing your assignment. Let's dive into the details and gain a better understanding of each phase.

Here are the main statuses for assignments:

  • Backlog: The Backlog status within assignments is your personal space to keep track of ideas and drafts that you may want to outsource to blackbear in the future. These assignments could be in their early stages and not ready for sharing just yet. Rest assured, your backlog is kept confidential and not shared outside of your organization. • Planning: The Planning phase of an assignment is a crucial step in the process. It starts once you have submitted an assignment for review. It involves working with blackbear to establish the scope of the assignment and getting it ready for posting to Solvers. This phase includes several sub-phases that help ensure your assignment is well-prepared and set up for success, as per below:
    • Under Review: This phase begins immediately after you submit your assignment for review to our blackbear team. During the 'Under Review' phase, our team will schedule an intake meeting with you to gain a thorough understanding of your requirements and continue crafting the full assignment scope. • Approve & Post: Once our blackbear team has completed the drafting your assignment, they will send it to you for a final review. It is important that you review and approve the content and budget before the assignment is shared with our solvers. To approve the assignment, simply click on 'Request to Post'. Once you have done that, the assignment will be ready to be published to the solvers. Learn how to post an assignment
    • Post Requested: Once you have submitted your 'Request to Post' and have approved the content and budget of the assignment, the assignment will transition to the 'Post Requested' status. Our team will carefully review your assignment for any recent changes and ensure that it is ready to be shared with solvers on the requested date. You can be confident that your assignment is in capable hands and will be executed according to plan.
    • Post Planned: Once you have requested to post your assignment and scheduled a future date for its release, your assignment will be placed in the 'Post Planned' status. When the designated date arrives, your assignment will automatically become available to Solvers on the platform.
  • Sourcing: Once your assignment is live on our platform, our team starts the process of carefully selecting the most suitable solvers to work on your assignment. We take pride in our ability to match the right solver to the right assignment, ensuring the best possible outcome for both parties.
  • Delivery: Once blackbear has selected the Solvers to work on your assignment, the status will change to 'Delivery.' This means that Solvers have started working on the deliverables of your assignment.
  • Completed: Once all the final deliverables for your assignment are received and you have submitted ratings, the status of your assignment changes to 'Completed'. You will receive an invoice after your assignment has been completed.
  • Cancelled: If for any reason you decide to cancel an assignment that has been published to our Solvers, the status of your assignment will change to 'Cancelled'.
